     This started as a hobby and as a nessasity that I really enjoy.

It gets really expensive living off the grid and having to feed a generator.

First it would cost $5,000 to put a power pole to my house.

So i figured that i could make our own power.

First we ran a generator. it was very expensive. and cheep gennerators didn't last long.

We looked at solar, have a 55 watt @ 12volts, pannel on the motor home.

That's 5 watts at 120 volts.Not much power for $300.

It will run a 120 volt night light for about 4 or so hours.

Not to mention the fact that the panels die about 1% a year.

 of course thay'll die sooner with a tracker & or a concentrator.

then never pay for it self.

the same with a grid tie system.

you'ld be better off to just stay on the grid.

Very expenesive for a hole house. about 10x the cost.

Wind seemed and is far better "cost" there's a lil bit of maintance like once a year but, it's so worth it.

Our Gennies are rated at 2200 watts max at 12 volt.

@ 6mph puts out the same as a 75 watt solar pannel.

Systems with hot water dump load are advisable.
